The Blood Clot Staff was a craftable Pre-Hardmode summon weapon that could also be dropped by The Perforators. It was statistically identical to its Corruption equivalent, the Dank Staff. It summoned a meaty blood clot minion, which followed the player and attacked enemies. It dealt contact damage, and would stay on enemies for as long as possible.

Its best modifier was Mythical. While Ruthless may seem to provide a bigger damage by percentages, rounding reveals that Mythical and Ruthless boost the damage equally for this weapon.

Notes

  • The minions summoned by this weapon tended to stay close to the player, even when enemies were nearby. This limited range required the player to stay close to enemies or bosses they would be fighting.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.3.003: Buffed damage from 7 to 9, but minions now grant 30 effective local immunity frames instead of 24.
  • 2.0.3.001: Now uses 4 Crimtane Bars and 12 Blood Samples in its recipe instead of 5 and 10.
  • 2.0.2.001:
    • Now inflicts Burning Blood for 2 seconds.
    • Moved Vertebrae to the bottom of the recipe.
  • 2.0.1.003:
    • Nerfed damage from 16 to 7 and it now grants 24 effective local immunity frames instead of 10.
    • Nerfed minions' turning speed.
  • 2.0.1.002:
    • Buffed damage from 7 to 16.
    • Minions now have a velocity multiplier of 3.
  • 1.4.3.001: Fixed minion not benefitting from increased all-class damage.
  • 1.3.3.001:
    • Blood Clots now charge at enemies instead of latching onto them.
    • Resprited it and Blood Clot buff.
  • 1.3.0.001: Now grants enemies 10 local immunity frames instead of 7.
  • 1.1.7.801: Fixed not being able to use the minion targeting feature.
  • 1.1.7.55: Fixed it displaying buff time in tooltip.
  • 1.1.7: Now produces dust when summoning its minion.
  • 1.1.5.05: Fixed the minion interacting strangely with tiles.
