Armor pieces are equipable items that provide defense and other stat boosts. Equipping a full set of the same armor type provides a set bonus for additional effects. Some armor set bonuses such as Omega Blue armor have an activated ability which can be bound to a key. Several armor sets have versions for each of the classes (melee, ranged, mage, summoner, and rogue), depending on which helmet is equipped.
The Calamity Mod adds 31 new armor sets and 1 miscellaneous armor piece. 8 sets can be obtained Pre-Hardmode, 12 sets in Hardmode, and 11 sets post-Moon Lord. In addition, many vanilla armor sets are rebalanced or reworked.
