Rancor is a post-Moon Lord spell tome. It is the exhumed form of the Burning Sea. When used, it creates a magic circle a set distance away from the player. After 3 seconds, the magic circle fires a large laser beam that pierces infinitely. Upon contact with solid tiles, the laser spawns dust, fog, and lava at the impact location. Additionally, damaging arms emerge out which deal 66.67% of the laser's damage, along with large cinders which fly out and deal 33.33% of the laser's damage. Both arms and cinders can also damage the player for 300 / 375 / 450
damage. Enemies struck by the laser beam are inflicted by the Rancor Burn debuff, which cause any organic enemies to disintegrate into ashes on death.
Its best modifier is Mythical.

Notes
- The player-damaging effects of this weapon also affect NPCs, making it easy to kill them by accident if fighting nearby.
- XM-05 Thanatos takes 50% damage from the Rancor's laser beam.
- "Organic" enemies are any enemy that meets the following requirements;
- Any enemies that do not use NPCHit2, NPCHit4, NPCHit5, NPCHit11, NPCHit30, NPCHit34, NPCHit36, NPCHit41, NPCHit42, NPCHit49, NPCHit52, NPCHit53, or NPCHit54 hit sounds.
- Any enemies that do not use custom hit sounds except Providence or Scorn Eaters.
- Rimehounds are also considered organic, even though they lack a specific exclusion, due to having a normal hit sound that gets overloaded by its custom hit sound.
Trivia
- The word "rancor" means bitterness or ruthlessness.
- The weapon's fog projectile is named "The Fog Is Coming".
- The fact that the weapon is the exhumed form of Burning Sea is meant to refer to how Calamitas evaporated a sea in the mod's lore.
- The magic circle that the weapon summons is based on the Human Transmutation Circle from Fullmetal Alchemist.

Rancor fired at a row of three grounded Target Dummies, then at a wall.
