Gruesome Eminence Holdout

The Gruesome Eminence is a post-Moon Lord magic weapon. It is the exhumed form of the Ghastly Visage. It fires a spirit monster that poorly follows the cursor and occasionally moves around randomly on its own. As time passes, it spawns small spirits which deal 140 / 280 / 420 to the player and NPCs. After 14 seconds, it grows to full size and becomes fully controllable by the player, but also stop releasing spirits. The damage of the spirit gradually builds up from 1x to 1.85x as it builds up to full size but will also deal 360 / 450 / 540 damage to the player once fully grown.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Notes

• The Gruesome Eminence's spirit congregation only deals 85% damage to XM-05 Thanatos.
• The Gruesome Eminence only consumes mana when the player first fires the spirit monster; it does not consume any mana while in use.

Trivia

• The amalgam mentioned in the item's description refers to Polterghast.
  • This would seem to indicate that the spirit congregation summoned by this weapon is comprised of the souls of Polterghast.
• The interior of the spirit monster contains two different silhouettes resembling Giygas from the EarthBound franchise, and another resembling a fetus.
• The weapon itself bears a resemblance to the trinkets dropped by The Collector from Darkest Dungeon, particularly Dismas' Head.

• 2.0.4.001:
  • Nerfed mana cost from 8 to 400.
  • Increased base velocity and velocity at full charge, and it now grants 11 local immunity frames instead of 12.
  • Increased sell price from 30 to 48 .

• 2.0.3.003:
  • Nerfed damage from 888 to 666, decreased maximum damage of the Spirit Congregation from 330% base damage to 185%, and it now grants 12 local immunity frames instead of 6.
  • Now exempt from the pierce resist system.
  • Can now be shimmered to de-exhume it into Ghastly Visage.

  • Now never stops being able to hurt the player.
