Apotheosis is a craftable post-Moon Lord developer spell tome. When used, it summons a cosmic portal that releases a mini Devourer of Gods that swarm enemies and fire lasers at them, before disappearing 5 seconds later. The mini-Devourer of Gods inflicts God Slayer Inferno and Whispering Death for 5 seconds.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

• Apotheosis was programmed by Terry N. Muse, one of the mod's lore writers, and implemented by the developer as a reward for completing a speedrun race challenge.
  • This speedrun race challenge had the participants race to kill the Devourer of Gods in hardcore mode with only spears.
  • The use time of 177 are references to Terry's excessive usage of the number 7.
• The word "apotheosis" refers to a culmination or climax, or an elevation to a god-like status.
• The knockback value of 6.9 is a reference to the internet meme of 69.
• The mana cost and velocities of 42 are references to the internet meme of 420.

• 2.0.2.001: No longer inflicts Armor Crunch, Demon Flames and Exo Freeze, but now inflicts Whispering Death for 5 seconds.

  • Nerfed damage from 420 to 77, use time from 15 to 50, and mana cost from 42 to 300.
