The Teardrop Cleaver is a Pre-Hardmode broadsword that is dropped by the Eye of Cthulhu. When hitting enemies, it inflicts the Temporal Sadness debuff, which reduces enemy contact damage by 50% and reduces their movement speed by 50% per frame.
Its best modifier is Legendary.
Notes
- This is a very powerful weapon early game, as the debuff it inflicts effectively stuns most enemies it hits on top of reducing their damage. Even after more powerful weapons are acquired, it may be worth keeping as a sidearm purely for the debuff.
Trivia
- Its hilt resembles an eye, with the middle of the blade appearing to feature teardrops.
- The Temporal Sadness debuff icon is inspired by the "Sad Spongbob" meme.
