The Shredder's primary and secondary attacks.

The Shredder is a craftable post-Moon Lord gun. The primary fire (left-click) shoots a barrage of fast-moving blue energy bolts which split off in many directions and speeds upon impacting any enemy or tile and deal 85% damage. The secondary fire (right-click) shoots an equivalent barrage of normal bullets. Both firing modes shoot an identical number of projectiles and have the same firing speed and spread pattern. Each shot has a use time of 3.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

Notes

  • The Shredder's secondary fire (right-click) can use any type of bullet ammo and will not change used bullets into Musket Balls.
  • This weapon can cause extreme lag when fired continuously. The secondary fire will cause more lag with bullets that create many particles, such as Chlorophyte Bullets, Holy Fire Bullets or Bubonic Rounds.

Trivia

  • While the weapon was originally meant as a reference to the Shredder from Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, the item underwent changes in development and is now mainly a reference to the Shredifier (and the Infinity) from Borderlands 2.
  • Its tooltip is in reference to the processor-intensive effects of the primary attack, causing frame rate drops on many players' devices.
