The Vehemence is a post-Moon Lord wand that is dropped by Supreme Witch, Calamitas. It fires a high-velocity hellish bolt that explodes into 18 skull clouds upon contact with enemies or tiles which deal 11% of the weapon's damage.

Its best modifier is Mythical.



  • Vehemence means "the display of strong feeling or passion".
  • In previous versions of the Calamity Mod, the Vehemence used to drop from the Wall of Flesh in Prepare to Die mode.
  • The weapon was previously referred to as "Vehemenc" in the mod's source files.
    • When the weapon used to drop from Wall of Flesh, the source name was properly "Vehemence". It was changed to "Vehemenc" when it was moved to drop from Supreme Calamitas in update, causing previous instances of "Vehemence" items to become invalid and unusable. This was done in order to prevent those who had obtained it before the update to suddenly have an overpowered item early.
      • In the update, most source names were changed to be consistent with ingame names including changing Vehemenc back to Vehemence, meaning that if a player were to have kept an old Vehemence from before the update then update to version or higher, the Vehemence would remain.


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • Increased sell price from 30 Gold Coin to 48 Gold Coin.
  • Fixed outdated tooltip description.
    • Buffed damage from 7 to 5185, mana cost from 590 to 41, and use time from 50 to 43.
    • No longer fires a projectile with a 500,000 damage cap and inflicts several debuffs. While casted, it now fires out hellish bolts that explode into skulls that deal 8% base damage. Hellish beams inflict Demon Flames for 30 seconds on hit.
    • Resprited it and its dart.
  • Increased damage cap from 500,000 to 1,000,000.
    • Increased the durations of full health debuffs from 20 seconds each to 200 each, and made projectile visible.
    • Resprited.
    • Nerfed damage from 10 to 7.
    • Projectile is now faster.
    • Damage is now capped at 500,000 instead of 1,000,000.
    • Buffed damage from 6 to 10.
    • Damage is now capped at 1,000,000 instead of 150,000.
    • Increased damage multiplier from 5x to 7x.
    • Now drops from Supreme Calamitas instead of Wall of Flesh.
    • Now uses the Rarity Level: 10 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 5.
    • Buffed damage from 5 to 6, but nerfed use time from 25 to 50 and mana cost from 200 to 250.
    • Now inflicts Mana Sickness for 10 seconds instead of 20.
    • Now caps at 150,000 damage instead of 100,000.
    • Nerfed mana cost from 130 to 200.
    • Capped its damage at a maximum of 100,000.
    • Now inflicts Mana Sickness.
