The 2.0.0.001 (or 2.0.0.1) update upgraded the mod to Terraria 1.4.3.6 (tModLoader v2022.5.103+). This means the Calamity Mod now supports many features that were released alongside the Vanilla Terraria 1.4.0.1 series of updates, including the Bestiary, Relics, and Journey Mode. This update also introduced redesigns and reworks of the Sea Remains set (previously "Victide"), and removed many extraneous weapons.

This update was the first to be hosted on tModLoader's Steam Workshop.

Aquatic Scourge

  • Slightly decreased how often Acid Mist projectiles are released on all difficulties.
  • Now takes 60% damage from Cryophobia's ice wave.

Astrum Aureus

  • Now spawns 6 homing flame crystals instead of 9 when it stomps.
  • Aureus Spawns in Death Mode now fire homing lasers towards the player instead of flame crystals.
  • No longer drops Hallowed Key.

Calamitas

  • Cataclysm's flamethrower dust no longer has deviation.

Cryogen

  • Decreased how often it can spawn in Ice Bomb projectiles, and decreased how many spawn from 4 to 2.
  • Increased how many Ice Bomb shrapnel projectiles are spawned, and decreased how fast they travel.

Deerclops

  • Buffed health from 7000 / 14,000 Expert Mode to 10,500 / 21,000 Expert Mode / 25,200 Revengeance Mode.
  • Now affected by Calamity's debuff vulnerability and resistance system, being vulnerable to sickness and heat debuffs, but resistant to cold debuffs.
  • Now has 5% damage reduction.

The Destroyer

  • Now takes 60% damage from Cryophobia's ice wave, and 85% damage from Snowstorm Staff.

The Devourer of Gods

  • Reworked Cosmic Guardians. They no longer have their own independent movement, and instead follow Devourer of Gods' head, flying around it.

  • Now plays "Duke Fishron" instead of "Boss 1" if the Calamity Music Mod is disabled.
  • Tooth Balls now burst into 6 gravity-affected spikes identical to ones spawned by Trilobite instead of 4 homing teeth identical to ones spawned by Aquatic Scourge.
  • Decreased fall acceleration of Trilobite Spikes by 60%.

The Perforators

  • The Perforator Hive now gains 30% damage reduction while a Perforator is alive instead of becoming invulnerable.
  • The Perforator Hive now drops its loot when defeated even if all Perforators are not yet defeated.

Queen Slime

  • Buffed health from 18,000 / 28,800 Expert Mode to 27,000 / 43,200 Expert Mode / 51,840 Revengeance Mode.

The Slime God

Enemies

  • Almost all enemies introduced after vanilla Terraria v1.3.5.3 are now affected by the Calamity debuff vulnerability and resistance system:
    • Antlion Larva and Blood Mummy are vulnerable to cold, water, and sickness debuffs.
    • Blood Eel, Blood Squid, Dreadnautilus, Gnome, Hemogoblin Shark, Spore Bat, Wandering Eye Fish, and Zombie Merman are vulnerable to cold, sickness, and heat debuffs.
    • Pirate's Curse is resistant to sickness debuffs.
    • Rock Golem is vulnerable to water debuffs, but resistant to sickness debuffs.
    • Spore Skeleton is vulnerable to water and heat debuffs, but resistant to sickness debuffs.
  • Angry Dandelion and Blood Squid no longer deal contact damage.
  • Nerfed Antlion Larva health from 35 to 15.
  • Nerfed Chattering Teeth Bomb damage from 150 to 100.
  • The health and defense nerf that applies to Underground Desert enemies is no longer removed after defeating Desert Scourge.

  • Item use speed tooltips have been rewritten for clarity:
    • Items with an internal use time value of 1-5 will now be labeled with Insanely fast.
    • Items with an internal use time value of 6-9 will now be labeled with Very fast.
    • Items with an internal use time value of 10-14 will now be labeled with Fast.
    • Items with an internal use time value of 15-22 will now be labeled with Average.
    • Items with an internal use time value of 23-29 will now be labeled with Slow.
    • Items with an internal use time value of 30-37 will now be labeled with Very slow.
    • Items with an internal use time value of 38-45 will now be labeled with Extremely slow.
    • Items with an internal use time value of 46 and above will now be labeled with Snail.

  • Point-Blank Damage now scales down with distance. Increased the duration a ranged projectile can be alive for it to perform Point-Blank Damage by 50%.
  • Nerfed Rolling Cactus damage from 76-104 / 152-280 Expert Mode to 45 / 65 Expert Mode and spike damage from 51-69 / 102-138 Expert Mode to 30 / 36 Expert Mode.
  • Rogue weapons can no longer receive the Ephemeral enchantment.
  • Melee weapons classified as "true melee" can no longer receive the Lecherous enchantment.
  • Reverted the nerfs to Nebula armor's life boosters.

Reworks

  • Reworked Bladecrest Oathsword. It now has a custom swing animation and fires three scythes per swing instead of one. Buffed use time from 25 to 21.
  • Reworked Cloud Elemental AI. She now hovers around and randomly performs one of three attacks: casting a ring of 5 cloud tornadoes, summoning 5 Angry Nimbi, and teleporting. Below 50% health, she casts 8 tornadoes, and summons 6 Angry Nimbi at a faster rate. Additionally, she gains two new attacks: creating 7 clouds which fire lightning bolts and performing four charges at the player in quick succession. She cannot summon Angry Nimbi while 10 or more are alive.
  • Reworked Cnidarian, it no longer functions as a yoyo and instead causes the player to hold out a fishing rod. While deployed, an electric jellyfish hook, attached to a string, will follow the mouse cursor. If an enemy is damaged by the hook, it causes active minions to target that enemy. Only one enemy can be targeted at a time. Additionally, sparks will periodically fire from the jellyfish hook when swung. It now does summon damage instead of melee damage.
  • Reworked Coral Spout, it no longer continuously fires out gravity-affected coral spike projectiles, and instead, when used, will fire out a spread of five pink coral spikes that travel a short distance before exploding. Additionally, it can also be charged up to decrease the spread of the coral spikes. When charged for 1.25 seconds, the coral spike projectiles will be replaced with a light blue coral chunk. Coral chunks travel much farther and at a higher velocity. When a coral chunk hits an enemy, it will stick to the enemy for 3 seconds before falling off. After falling off of an enemy, coral chunks can be recovered by the player to restore 100 mana. Coral chunks will only linger after falling off of an enemy for 5.5 seconds. Sound cues will also play when charging up the weapon, when it is fully charged, and when coral chunks fall off of enemies. Nerfed damage from 17 to 7.
  • Reworked Draedon's Heart, no longer increases the player's life regeneration and damage reduction while standing still, and instead adds the Nanomachines meter. The Nanomachines meter will gradually charge over time during boss encounters. When the meter is full, it can be activated, which will cause the player to heal for 360 health over two seconds while hindering the player's movement. Activating the Nanomachines meter will also cause the player to dismount if they are using one. Getting hit while the meter is charging will cause the meter to stop charging for 1 second. If the player is on Revengeance Mode or higher, while equipped this accessory will replace the Adrenaline Meter with the Nanomachines meter. Additionally, it now grants the player 48 defense.
  • Reworked Fishbone Boomerang, it now has a hitsound that increases in pitch per enemy hit. Once 10 enemies have been hit in a single throw, the hitsound is replaced with a drum. If the boomerang hits an enemy or tile, 1-2 cosmetic bone gores will spawn that deal no damage. Additionally, it now has a custom throw animation. Its stealth strike now gives the boomerang the ability to ricochet between enemies instead of spawning seashell projectiles.
  • Reworked Old Die, it no longer increases the damage deviation range, including rolling the deviation twice for rogue damage. It now increases the luck stat by 0.2 while equipped.
  • Reworked Old Lord Oathsword. It now has a custom swing animation and no longer has an effect on critical strikes. The player can right click to hold the sword upwards while charging up. If fully charged, the player will spin in the direction of the cursor while trailing homing bombs. Nerfed use time from 24 to 34.
  • Reworked Redtide Spear, it no longer fires a stinger that poisons enemies on hit when deployed. When used, it will now swing similarly to Ghastly Glaive. Additionally, when used while running, the player will hold the weapon steadily forward, which increases the knockback dealt to enemies. When releasing the attack button, ending the run, or after jumping, the player will slash the spear upwards, causing any enemies at the spear's end not immune to knockback to be thrown into the air, and receiving up to 50 fall damage when they hit the ground. Buffed damage from 28 to 33.
  • Reworked Reed Blowgun, it no longer fires arrows and a spread of water bolts and instead fires a stream of high-velocity bubbles. It no longer requires ammo to fire. Buffed damage from 12 to 19.
  • Reworked Stream Gouge. The spear now spins around the player and summons a portal to attack in random directions in the range of the cursor. It no longer fires essence spear clones. Buffed damage from 112 to 300.
  • Reworked Titanium Railgun. Holding down left click now charges up the weapon to fire an extremely fast beam when released. The damage of the beam scales with how long it has been charged up for, stopping when the sights full converge. Buffed damage from 100 to 275 and knockback from 3 to 5, but nerfed use time from 25 to 26.
  • Reworked Urchin Mace, it no longer fires out a whirlpool projectile when swung, instead, it must now be charged up to use. Charging up the weapon will cause it to spin rapidly around the player, generating a large whirlpool. While charging up, the mace itself will deal damage to enemies, the whirlpool will not. Once charged, the player can release the whirlpool towards the direction of their cursor by letting go of the charge. The whirlpool will travel a medium-length distance before exploding, dealing damage to all enemies it hits while traveling. Nerfed damage from 35 to 20.
  • Reworked the Victide Mask set bonus minion, it no longer summons a sea urchin above the player, firing stingers at nearby enemies. It instead spawns a sea snail that will remain next to the player's side, firing a spread of projectiles towards enemies. While moving, the sea snail will spin above the player and continue to fire projectiles towards nearby enemies.

Additional Changes

  • Rewrote the mod description.
  • Adrenaline and Rage now have more pronounced visual effects that surround the player when active.
  • Increased the chance for Astral Slime to drop Abandoned Slime Staff from 5% to 14.29%.
  • Calamity Beds, except the Plagued 'Bed', can now be slept on.
  • Bloody Tear, Deer Thing, and Gelatin Crystal are now non-consumable and stack up to 1.
  • Improved the Boss Rush sky shader effect.
  • Decreased all Calamity and Vanilla boss summons use times from 45 to 10.
  • Cadance buff no longer causes heart gores to spawn around the player.
  • The Calamity Boss Health Bar is now toggleable in the "Interface" section of the Settings menu through the "Boss Bar Style" option.
  • Celestial Onion will not grant an additional accessory slot while the player is in a Master Mode world.
  • Calamity Chairs and Exo Toilet can now be sat on.
    • Additionally, Exo Toilet now has wire support.
  • Sitting in Chairs no longer increases the player's life regeneration.
  • Calamity Critters are invulnerable while the player has Guide To Critter Companionship in their inventory.
  • Crumbling Dungeon Bricks now always shatter all adjacent Crumbling Bricks when broken.
  • Demon Altars now drop 4 Souls of Night when broken instead of 6.
  • Desert Fossils no longer have a random chance to shatter when broken.
  • Items that increase heat debuff damage are now stackable with each other.
  • Hadarian now has a 5% chance to drop Hadarian Wings after defeating Astrum Aureus.
  • Changed Infected Remote's Virili buff tooltip from "It's a shame you can't hug her" to "Unfortunately for you, she's quite contagious".
  • Life Crystal, Life Fruit, and Mana Crystal now have auto use.
  • Adjusted the life regeneration soft cap to account for players with up to 1000 health.
  • The player's life regeneration is no longer reduced if the player does not have one of the three Well Fed buffs active in Expert Mode or higher.
  • Melee weapons that fire projectiles now gain a damage boost from melee speed.
  • Meteorite can now be exploded at any point instead of only after defeating Wall of Flesh.
  • Prismatic Breaker and Sparkling Empress lasers now have aim inertia.
  • Prismatic Lacewing can now spawn at the start of Hardmode.

  • Updated the Revengeance tooltip to match changes made after the vanilla 1.3.5.3 version.
  • Revengeance Mode no longer increases coin drop yields by an additional 150%. Instead, Expert Mode increases coin drop yields by an additional 150%, and moved the Expert Mode coin drop yield multiplier to Classic Mode.
  • Added several Town NPC names:
  • Added a use sound for Virid Vanguard.
  • Rewrote the tooltip for Warmth.
  • Increased the wind speed requirement for the "Windy Day" vanilla music track to play from 20 mph to 30 mph.
  • Wind Speed will only cancel out the Sandstorm event if it decreases below 20 mph instead of 30 mph.
  • Abyss light level is no longer affected by Death Mode.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Adrenaline and Rage Meters to overlap the inventory hotbars UI by default.
  • Fixed Aged Laboratory Screen, Exo Screen, and Laboratory Screen not breaking when any walls behind them were broken.
  • Reworded Anechoic Coating's buff's description.
  • Fixed Astral Arcanum using the Rarity Level: 13 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 12.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Astral Ore to not receive proper shaders in Color and White lighting.
  • Fixed a bug that caused segmented bosses to despawn when transitioning into their second phase.
  • Fixed two spelling errors in Bouncy Spiky Ball's tooltip.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Ceaseless Void, Signus, and Storm Weaver's Treasure Bags from dropping vanilla developer items.
