The Astral Slime is a Hardmode slime that spawns in the Astral Infection biome. After defeating Astrum Aureus, Astral Slimes will begin to drop the Abandoned Slime Staff and after defeating Astrum Deus they will start dropping Astral Ore.
Like most other slimes, the Astral Slime will be passive towards any player with the Royal Gel accessory equipped.

- The Bestiary entry for the Astral Slime: "With slimes already acclimated to absorbing both matter and energy from the environment, it is a trivial matter for the star's mana to overtake the gelatinous creatures of this land. But the slimes care not, for little about their existence is changed."
