The Astral Slime is a Hardmode slime that spawns in the Astral Infection biome. After defeating Astrum Aureus, Astral Slimes will begin to drop the Abandoned Slime Staff and after defeating Astrum Deus they will start dropping Astral Ore.

Like most other slimes, the Astral Slime will be passive towards any player with the Royal Gel accessory equipped.

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Astral Slime: "With slimes already acclimated to absorbing both matter and energy from the environment, it is a trivial matter for the star's mana to overtake the gelatinous creatures of this land. But the slimes care not, for little about their existence is changed."

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Now has 25% less health and 10% less damage in Master Mode.
    • Nerfed knockback resistance from 100% to 40%.
    • No longer deals contact damage while not jumping.
  • 2.0.3.007: Fixed its bestiary entry using the wrong apostrophe.
  • 2.0.3.005: Decreased Astral Infection duration from 1.5 seconds to 1.25.
  • 2.0.3.003: Decreased Astral Infection duration from 2 seconds to 1.5.
  • 2.0.3.001: Nerfed health post-Astrum Aureus from 310 / 620 Expert Mode / 930 Master Mode to 300 / 600 Expert Mode / 900 Master Mode.
  • 1.5.1.001: Now vulnerable to heat debuffs, but resistant to sickness debuffs.

    • Now inflicts Astral Infection for 2 seconds.
    • Now drops 8-12 / 11-16 Expert Mode Astral Ore after defeating Astrum Deus.

    • Now gains increased stats, equivalent to old stat values, after defeating Astrum Aureus.
    • Now drops Abandoned Slime Staff after defeating Astrum Aureus instead of Astrum Deus.
    • Nerfed health from 310 / 620 Expert Mode to 200 / 400 Expert Mode, damage from 65 / 130 Expert Mode to 40 / 80 Expert Mode, and defense from 18 to 8.
  • 1.4.1.003:
    • Increased delay between when its hit sound can play.
    • Increased minimum coin drop amount from 4 Silver Coin to 10 Silver Coin.
  • 1.4.0.001:
    • Buffed health from 90 / 180 Expert Mode to 310 / 620 Expert Mode, damage from 40 / 80 Expert Mode to 65 / 130 Expert Mode, and nerfed defense from 20 to 18.
    • Now has slight transparency.
    • No longer immune to Lava.
    • No longer drops Stardust.
    • No longer inflicts God Slayer Inferno after defeating Astrum Deus.
    • Now spawns more often.
  • 1.3.4.001: Nerfed health from 150 / 300 Expert Mode to 90 / 180 Expert Mode.
  • 1.3.2.001: Nerfed health from 350 / 591 Expert Mode to 150 / 300 Expert Mode, contact damage from 90 / 152 Expert Mode to 40 / 80 Expert Mode, and laser damage from 18-20 / 36-40 Expert Mode / 54-60 Death Mode to 13-15 / 26-30 Expert Mode / 39-45 Death Mode.
  • 1.2.0.001: No longer spawns when near a Celestial Pillar.
