The 1.4.4.001 (or 1.4.4.1) update, also known as "Acid Rain", added the Acid Rain event and The Old Duke boss. It also added numerous weapons and other equipment especially for the Summoner class, changed the Sulphurous Sea world generation, among other balance and boss changes.

Bosses

  • Added glowmasks to the following bosses and boss minions:
    • Astrum Deus, Bumblebirb, Calamitas, Ceaseless Void, Crabulon, Perforator Hive, all Perforators, Plaguebringer Goliath, Polterghast, Profaned Guardians, Providence, Signus, Supreme Calamitas, and Yharon.
    • Aureus Spawn, Cataclysm, Catastrophe, Cosmic Lantern, Crab Shroom, Dark Energy, Flame Pillar, Life Seeker, Plague Homing Missile, Plague Mine, Polterghast Hook, Sepulcher, Soul Seeker, Supreme Cataclysm, Supreme Catastrophe, and Supreme Soul Seeker.
  • Debuff icons now appear on top of bosses or minibosses. This can be toggled via configuration options.

The Destroyer

Jungle Dragon, Yharon

  • Flare bomb ring attack now spreads in all directions. Attack animation slightly changed.

Moon Lord

  • Now drops an additional 50 Luminite in every difficulty.

Siren and Leviathan

The Slime God

  • Reduced the charging speed of the core in Death Mode.

Storm Weaver

  • Buffed phase 2's health from 600,000 / 960,000 Expert Mode to 900,000 / 1,440,000 Expert Mode.

Armor and Accessories

  • Festive Wings now rain down homing ornaments during the player's flight.
  • Gladiator's Locket's damage now scales from 20 to 50 in Hardmode, 100 after defeating Plantera, 200 after Moon Lord, and 300 after the Devourer of Gods.
  • Buffed Soul of Cryogen's flight time from 100 to 120. It now rains icicles during the player's flight.
  • Nerfed Statis' Blessing's minion slot boost from 3 to 2.
  • Removed Statis' Ninja Belt's 5% rogue damage, critical strike chance, and projectile velocity boosts.
  • Reworked Statis' Void Sash, increased the dash length and added trailing homing scythes that release when dashing. Removed all rogue and summoner boosts.

  • Buffed Crystyl Crusher's damage from 500 to 2000, and beam now grants enemies 1 local immunity frame instead of 5 ID-static immunity frames. The end of the beam now follows the mouse cursor, and right click now functions as a regular pickaxe.
  • Buffed Pearlwood Hammer's damage from 9 to 36, and hammer power from 45% to 80%.
  • Buffed Reefclaw Hamaxe's use time from 28 to 20.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where Abyssal Crates could not be caught.
  • Fixed an incompatibility bug where Devourer of Gods Mask did not appear in the Boss Checklist mod's Boss Log.
  • Fixed a tooltip misspelling in flasks.
  • Fixed a visual bug where Gleaming Dagger's projectile was rotated in the wrong direction.
  • Fixed a bug where The Plaguebringer Goliath and Queen Bee did not perform the charge attack.
  • Fixed a tooltip error where rogue armor sets described an outdated function of stealth regeneration.
  • Fixed a bug where Skeletron's hands didn't move after teleporting in Revengeance Mode.
  • Fixed an oversight where Truffle Worms were still sold despite disabling the Selling Vanilla Boss Summons configuration option.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Yharon to enrage at all times in Multiplayer.

Trivia

  • The update released on April Fools day as a parallel to when Duke Fishron was revealed on April Fools day 2014.
