The Irradiated Slime is a Hardmode slime that spawns during Tier 2 of the Acid Rain event. Rather than spawning like normal enemies, it gradually falls from the sky while the event is ongoing and can fall through platforms while doing so until it is at a similar height to the player.
Like most other slimes, the Irradiated Slime will be passive towards any player with the Royal Gel accessory equipped.
Notes
- Irradiated Slimes' unique method of spawning is unaffected by things that affect NPC spawn rates, such as Water Candles, Battle Potions, and Calming Potions.
- The Irradiated Slime will be replaced by the Gamma Slime after Polterghast has been defeated, making them impossible to encounter in that world after its defeat.

Bestiary entry for the Irradiated Slime: "Though slime is known to fall from the sky on occasion, slime in the sky condenses far quicker here in the Sulphurous Sea, as its air is thick with sulfur and radiation. It isn't uncommon for full sized slimes to fall from the heavens during acid rain storms, never mind a fully-fledged slime rain."
- Irradiated Slimes falling from the sky during the event is similar to normal slimes that fall during the Slime Rain event.
