The Luminous Corvina is an enemy that spawns in the second layer of the Abyss. It simply swims from side to side, never attempting to chase the player, even if they damage it.

If the player is in front of it for 4 / 3 Death Mode seconds, it will emit a shrill scream which inflicts the Fish Alert debuff, allowing Abyss enemies to notice the player more easily. Once damaged, however, it will scream every 4 / 3 Death Mode seconds as long as it has a line of sight on the player.


  • Due to this enemy's high luminescence, the player can spot it easily in the dark waters and should make note of where not to shoot or attack in order to prevent damaging it.


  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Luminous Corvina: "Lumenyl grows on the fins of these exotic corvina, making these creatures one of the few sources of light in the Abyss. It survives by guiding what would be its predators to other prey, signaling where it is by emitting a shrill pulse."
  • Corvinas are a type of saltwater fish that inhabit the coasts of Central and South America, they are mainly known for being a highly prized food fish.


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
    • Now has 25% less health and 10% less damage in Master Mode.
    • Now inflicts Riptide instead of Crush Depth.
    • Now drops Depth Cells and Lumenyl after defeating Anahita and Leviathan instead of Calamitas Clone.
    • Now drops 1-2 / 2-3 Expert Mode Depth Cells at a 50% chance instead of 1-2 at a 50% chance with a 50% chance to drop an extra 1 in Expert Mode.
    • Can now scream every 3 / 2 Death Mode seconds instead of 5 / 2.5 Death Mode.
    • Now vulnerable to electricity and sickness debuffs, but resistant to water and heat debuffs.
    • Nerfed defense from 20 to 12.
    • Can no longer drop Halibut Cannon.
    • Screams 50% more often in Death Mode.
    • Resprited it and Fish Alert debuff.
  • Decreased Halibut Cannon drop rate from 0.1% Revengeance Mode to 0.0001% Revengeance Mode.
    • Decreased Lumenyl drop count from 1-2 / 2-3 Expert Mode to 1.
    • Fixed it not dropping Lumenyl after defeating Calamitas.
    • Buffed health from 400 / 800 Expert Mode to 800 / 1600 Expert Mode.
    • Increased Fish Alert duration from 3 seconds to 6.
    • Increased Crush Depth duration from 2 seconds to 3.
    • Nerfed health from 500 / 1000 Expert Mode to 400 / 800 Expert Mode.
    • Can now drop Halibut Cannon at a 0.01% chance.
