The Orthocera is a Hardmode enemy that spawns during Tiers 2 and 3 of the Acid Rain event. It will swim towards the player if they are in water to deal contact damage. If the player is outside of the water, it will attempt to lunge towards them while firing streams of acid. If it lands on the surface, it will flop around aimlessly.

Notes

• In the Get fixed boi seed, it will leave behind a trail of Rancor lava and steam.

Trivia

• The Bestiary entry for the Orthocera: "Though radiation normally slowly kills living things, thanks to Silva's influence keeping creatures in the Sulphurous Sea alive, mutations caused by radiation will rarely reawaken lost genes and traits. These creatures are but one such example."

• Orthoceras is an extinct genus of nautiloid cephalopods that lived during the Middle Ordovician period.
