The 1.4.4.004 (or 1.4.4.4) update added several new items, most notably Dyes and Water fountains, along with many balance and boss changes.
Additions
- Added Lion Heart, Relic of Deliverance, Tundra Flame Blossoms Staff, and Valkyrie Ray.
- Added Forbidden Circlet.
- Added Abyss Water Fountain, Astral Water Fountain, Sulphuric Water Fountain, and Sunken Water Fountain.
- Added Astral Blue Dye, Astral Orange Dye, Astral Swirl Dye, Ceaseless Dye, Defiled Flame Dye, Dragon Soul Dye, Elemental Dye, Endothermic Dye, Nightmare Dye, Reaver Dye, Shadowspec Dye, and Stratus Dye.
- Added Adrenaline Hair Dye, Rage Hair Dye, Stealth Hair Dye, and Wing Time Hair Dye.

- Added the Reactive Damage Reduction system.

Astrum Deus
Brimstone Elemental
- Buffed passive damage reduction from 0% to 15%.
- Nerfed Brimling's damage reduction from 20% to 15%.
- Now fires an arc of hellblasts rather than a random shotgun.
Calamitas
- Added a small delay to the charge attack in Revengeance Mode.
Cryogen
- Now forces the rain to stop.
Duke Fishron
- Buffed damage reduction in Revengeance Mode from 0% to 10%.
Golem
- Removed a status message when defeated.
Jungle Dragon, Yharon
- Now takes no damage from attacks that deal 50% of his health instead of 10%.
Lunatic Cultist
- Buffed damage reduction in Revengeance Mode from 5% to 10%.
The Old Duke
- Now forces the rain to stop.
Plantera
- Buffed damage reduction in Revengeance Mode from 0% to 15%.
- Buffed tentacles' damage reduction in Revengeance Mode from 0% to 10%.
Skeletron Prime
- Now gains 8 defense per limb alive in Revengeance Mode instead of 9999.
- In Revengeance Mode, if the head's health is reduced to 66%, all limbs are instantly killed and it moves to the next phase.
The Slime God
- Increased fire rates of the core's mines in the final phase, but decreased the teleportation frequency.
Supreme Calamitas
- Slowed down Brimstone Monsters.
- Brimstone Gigablasts now explode when hitting tiles at all times.
- Now takes no damage from attacks that deal 50% of her health instead of 10%.
Wall of Flesh
- Now triggers the "A bloody red inferno lingers in the night..." status message when defeated instead of Brimstone Elemental or Skeletron Prime.

- Nerfed Tier 3 Acid Eel's health from 6650 / 10,640 to 5500 / 8800 , damage from 160 / 272 to 120 / 204 , and damage reduction from 30% to 5%. Reduced max speed and acceleration for all tiers.
- Nerfed Tier 3 Flak Crab's health from 7500 / 12,000 to 7000 / 11,200 .
- Nerfed Gamma Slime's health from 6410 / 10,256 to 5915 / 9464 , damage from 145 / 246 to 130 / 221 , and damage reduction from 25% to 15%.
- Nerfed Tier 2 Orthocera's health from 605 / 1573 to 605 / 968 , and damage from 75 / 180 to 75 / 127 . Nerfed Tier 3 health from 5700 / 14,820 to 4500 / 7200 , and damage from 180 / 432 to 160 / 272 . Reduced max speed and acceleration for Tier 3.
- Nerfed Tier 2 Skyfin's damage reduction from 10% to 5%. Nerfed Tier 3 health from 6300 / 10,080 to 1001 / 1601 , damage from 175 / 297 to 150 / 255 , and damage reduction from 20% to 5%. Reduced max speed for all tiers.
- Nerfed Tier 3 Sulphurous Skater's health from 6600 / 10,560 to 5000 / 8000 , and damage from 140 / 238 to 100 / 170 . Reduced max speed for all tiers.
- Nerfed Tier 3 Trilobite's health from 7200 / 11,520 to 4900 / 7840 , and damage from 160 / 272 to 120 / 204 . Reduced max speed for Tier 3.
- Nerfed Tier 2 Water Leech's damage from 100 / 170 to 80 / 136 . Nerfed Tier 3 damage from 172 / 292 to 120 / 204 .
Balance
Weapons
- Rogue weapons now benefit from throwing critical strike chance boosts.
- Added stealth strikes for Icebreaker, Infernal Spear, Rot Ball, Tarragon Throwing Dart, Time Bolt, Titanium Shuriken, Tooth Ball, and Valediction.
- Nerfed Aegis Blade, fireballs now deal 85% base damage and flames now deal 75% base damage.
- Nerfed Aeries and Pearl God's lifesteal from 10% of bullet damage to 5%.
- Nerfed Alpha Ray, alt fire now deals 175% base damage instead of 210%.
- Nerfed Apoctosis Array's damage from 50 to 45, and mana cost from 12 to 14. It now deals 40% less damage while the player has the Astral Injection buff.
- Buffed Ark of the Cosmos' damage from 500 to 501.
- Nerfed Astral Scythe, projectiles now deal 60% base damage.
- Nerfed Barracuda Gun's damage from 76 to 63.
- Buffed Bat Scepter's damage from 45 to 49.
- Nerfed Bladedge Railbow's damage from 26 to 25, and use time from 23 to 26.
- Nerfed Blizzard Staff's damage from 43 to 40.
- Rebalanced Brackish Flask. Buffed damage from 40 to 60, but seawater blasts now deal 50% base damage.
- Nerfed Briny Baron's damage from 80 to 75.
- Nerfed Celestus, phantom blades now deal 70% base damage.
- Nerfed Clock Gatlignum's damage from 60 to 55, and use time from 6 to 9.

- Buffed Sand Sharknado Staff's damage from 30 to 35, and increased Sharknado's aggression range.
- Buffed Shadowbeam Staff's damage from 53 to 106.
- Rebalanced Shifting Sands. Nerfed damage from 90 to 85, and use time from 18 to 30. It now has auto use, and projectiles now grant 10 local immunity frames instead of 5 global immunity frames.
- Nerfed Shock Grenade's damage from 100 to 90.
- Nerfed Spikecrag Staff's damage from 70 to 56.
- Nerfed Star Cannon EX's damage from 100 to 95.
- Nerfed Starfury's star lifespan to 0.75 seconds.
- Rebalanced Storm Ruler. Nerfed damage from 95 to 80, but tornado now scales with melee damage boosts.
- Nerfed Subduction Slicer's damage from 100 to 90.
- Nerfed Supernova, energy now deals 50% base damage instead of 80%.
- Nerfed Tears of Heaven's damage from 72 to 64.
- Rebalanced Temporal Floe Sword. Buffed damage from 85 to 95. Main beam now deals 65% base damage. Main beam splits into two beams on hit that each deal 50% damage; the directions of the secondary beams depend on the world time.
- Nerfed Terra Blade's damage from 114 to 95.
- Nerfed Terra Edge, projectiles now deal 75% base damage.
- Nerfed Terra Flameburster's damage from 56 to 43.
- Nerfed Terra Lance, projectiles now deal 85% base damage instead of 70%.
- Nerfed Terra Ray's damage from 85 to 50, and use time from 19 to 24.
- Nerfed True Ark of the Ancients, beams now deal 75% base damage.
- Buffed Venus Magnum's damage from 28 to 38.
- Nerfed Virulence, projectiles now deal 85% base damage.
- Nerfed Wingman's damage from 54 to 49, and use time from 11 to 15.
- Nerfed Winter's Fury's damage from 69 to 59, and use time from 9 to 12.
- Nerfed Xenopopper's damage from 45 to 33.
Other
- Removed Calamity's melee speed hard-cap of 100%.
- Most true melee-weapon based effects such as Fungal Symbiote can now be triggered by most melee weapons on true melee strikes.
- Artemis Emblem no longer grants minion knockback.
- Mana Polarizer now grants the player lifesteal at all times, with the amount of healing depending on mana ratio.
Recipes
- Barracuda Gun now uses 1 Life Alloy in its recipe.
- Clock Gatlignum now uses 3 Life Alloys in its recipe instead of 5 Hallowed Bars.
- Crystal Flare Staff now uses 3 Cores of Eleum, 8 Cryonic Bars, and a Frost Core in its recipe instead of 3 Essences of Eleum and 15 Crystal Shards.
- Eye of Desolation no longer uses Souls of Fright in its recipe.
- Fantasy Talisman's recipe now yields 150 instead of 100.
- Lazinator now uses 1 Soul of Fright, Soul of Might, and Soul of Sight in its recipe.
Renames
- Renamed Daedalus Emblem to Artemis Emblem.
- Renamed Mana Overloader to Mana Polarizer.
Resprites
- Resprited Carnage Ray, Cryophobia, Dark Spark, Floodtide, Greatsword of Judgement, Magnetic Meltdown, Mariana, Night's Ray, and Proporse Pistol.
- Resprited Abyssal Amulet, Depths Charm, Ethereal Talisman, and Lumenous Amulet.
- Resprited Depth Cells, Galactica Singularity, and Lumenyl.
- Resprited Melter Banner, Mirage Jelly Banner, Pestilent Slime Banner, Plaguebringer Banner, Plagueshell Banner, and Viruling Banner.
- Resprited Aurora Spirit.

Additional Changes
- Added the name "Finchi" for the Arms Dealer.
- Changed Death Mode hazards in various ways:
- Reduced the speed of icicle attacks.
- Telegraphed lightning and geyser attacks.
- Added a configuration option to customize the frequency of hazards.
- Astral Crates now have a 50% chance to contain 10-20 Meteorite, and a 25% chance to contain 5-10 Meteorite Bars.
- Baby Ghost Bell Jar now counts as a light source.
- Bloodworm now shows up on the Lifeform Analyzer and its upgrades.
- Boss Rush no longer disables mounts.
- Changed Gael's Greatsword's flavor tooltip from "Give me that thing, your dark soul" to "Hand it over, that thing. Your dark soul."
- Harpy can now drop Essence of Sunlight in Hardmode.
- Hermit's Box of One Hundred Medicines' blessing can now be deactivated.
- Increased Lead Core's drop rate from 1% to 3.33%.
- Lead Wizard now drops from Golem instead of Armored Digger.
- Added Marine Kelp Planter Boxes in Planetoid chests if the Thorium Mod is enabled.
- The Merchant now sells Angel Statue if the Bandit is present.
- Relic of Resilience no longer has health and instantly breaks from any damage. Any enemy near the shards is now inflicted with the Profaned Weakness debuff.
- Increased Revivify Potion's buff duration from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Stuffed Fish now include herbs from the Shadows of Abaddon Mod if it is enabled.
Fixes
- Fixed the Adrenaline and Rage Meters disappearing in dedicated multiplayer servers.
- Fixed Dark Energies not despawning properly.
- Fixed The Devourer of Gods respawning if it was killed too quickly.
- Fixed a tooltip error with Draconic Elixir where it displayed outdated numbers.
- Fixed Sulphurous Sand being placed when the player tries to place down Hardened Sulphurous Sandstone.
- Fixed an oversight where player-placed Sulphurous Sand did not count towards an artificial Sulphurous Sea biome.
- Fixed Super Dummy disappearing in multiplayer.
- Fixed an oversight where the custom rarity for Svantechnical was not properly used.
