- Not to be confused with Gulper Eel, an enemy that spawns in the lowest 2 levels of the Abyss.
The Moray Eel is a Pre-Hardmode enemy that spawns in the Ocean and the 1st layer of the Abyss. It swims around when not aggressive, but as soon as the player gets too near or hits it, it will swim in their direction and attempt to attack them. If hit, it will not go passive again, even if the player is far from it.
Notes
- Moray Eels are not automatically targeted by minions, until they become aggressive by either getting hit or the player getting too close to them.
Trivia
- The
Bestiary entry for the Moray Eel: "When a fish bites your heel and it looks like an eel, that's a moray. When it swims in the reef and has two sets of teeth, that's a moray. When you're slapped in the face with a slimy embrace, that's a moray."
- The first line of the Moray Eel's Bestiary entry is taken from a meme which itself references the song That's Amore.
