The Gamma Slime is a post-Moon Lord slime that spawns during Tier 3 of the Acid Rain event. It jumps around erratically and will shoot 5 Flak ShotGamma Acid out in a star pattern while it is jumping. Occasionally, it will stop jumping and charge up a Gamma RayGamma Ray and fire it upwards.

Like most other slimes, the Gamma Slime will be passive towards any player with the Royal Gel accessory equipped.


  • It replaces the Irradiated Slime after Polterghast is defeated.
    • Filling out the Gamma Slime's bestiary entry will also fill out the Irradiated Slime's entry if it hasn't been fully completed already.
  • Uniquely among slimes, they do not float in water, and instead sink to the bottom.


  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Gamma Slime: "A slime overloaded with radiation from Draedon’s long-since abandoned experiments with nuclear energy. Though methods of generating power involving nuclear energy surpassed all others that came before in terms of raw efficiency, not even these advancements were enough to satisfy the enigmatic engineer."


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
    • Now has 25% less health and 10% less damage in Master Mode.
    • Nerfed laser damage in Master Mode from 288 Master Mode to 243 Master Mode, and acid damage from 108 Master Mode to 90 Master Mode.
    • No longer deals contact damage while not jumping.
  • Fixed its bestiary entry using the wrong apostrophe.
  • Nerfed health from 5060 / 10,120 Expert Mode / 15,180 Revengeance Mode to 5000 / 10,000 Expert Mode / 15,000 Revengeance Mode.
  • Now vulnerable to electricity debuffs, but resistant to water, sickness, and heat debuffs.
    • Nerfed health from 9200 / 18,400 Expert Mode to 5060 / 10,120 Expert Mode.
    • Decreased Irradiated duration from contact from 5 seconds to 3.
    • Increased Irradiated duration from gamma beam from 3 seconds to 10.
  • Buffed health from 5915 / 9464 Expert Mode to 9200 / 18,400 Expert Mode, nerfed contact damage from 130 / 221 Expert Mode to 110 / 220 Expert Mode, acid damage from 90 / 180 Expert Mode to 90 / 144 Expert Mode, beam damage from 240 / 480 Expert Mode to 240 / 384 Expert Mode, and defense from 50 to 25.
    • Added a glowmask to projectiles.
    • Fixed it not being affected by Royal Gel.
  • Nerfed health from 6410 / 10,256 Expert Mode to 5915 / 9464 Expert Mode, damage from 145 / 246 Expert Mode to 130 / 221 Expert Mode, and damage reduction from 25% to 15%.
  • Increased Lead Core drop chance from 1% to 3.33%.
