The Blinded Angler is a Hardmode enemy that spawns in the Sunken Sea. It is initially passive and slowly swims back and forth. However, it will become aggressive if the player gets very close to it (~5 blocks away) and will try to swim towards the player to deal contact damage. It will become passive again if the player gets out of its range and dealing damage to it will not change its behavior.
Trivia
- The Bestiary entry for the Blinded Angler: "Lacking most normal senses, these predators use a form of biological sonar to ‘see’ their surroundings. The glowing crystals on their backs draw in prey that use the sea’s shimmering prisms as their guiding light, like a moth to the flame."
