- This article is about the mini boss previously named 'Reaper'. For the vanilla enemy see Reaper.
- For other uses of the term 'reaper' see Reaper (disambiguation).
The Reaper Shark is a mini boss that spawns in the 4th layer of the Abyss. It is initially stealthed as it hunts for prey, growling to indicate its presence. If approached or attacked by the player, the Reaper Shark will roar and enter an enraged state. Once enraged, it attempts to hurt the player by swimming directly into them.
At 50% health, the Reaper Shark will briefly go invincible and roar, enraging further. It will then perform a series of faster, angled dash attacks, before resuming its prior behavior. Under 10% health, the Reaper Shark will stop dashing, have its contact damage reduced by 50%, and go back to just swimming towards the player albeit more slowly than when above 50% health.
It can be detected with the Lifeform Analyzer.
Notes
- The Reaper Shark will not spawn in the 4th layer of the Abyss if another Reaper Shark is already present.
- In the Get fixed boi seed, its sprite appears to have legs and colors that it takes on are based on the Pyre Mantle blocks.
- It will also fire demon scythes backwards when performing charge attacks.
Trivia
- The Bestiary entry for the Reaper Shark: "Apex predators of the void, these sharks take advantage of both their stealthiness and might to hunt anything and everything that comes near. Using their arms for purposes from hurling colossal squids into the Abyss' walls to crushing the heavily armored heads of eidolon wyrms, few can match their raw strength."
- Its name is a reference to the Reaper Leviathan from the game Subnautica.
- Its name used to simply be "Reaper"; however, this was changed due to a conflict with a vanilla enemy of the same name.
