The Surface layer features a new critter and 7 new enemies, which spawn at varying points throughout the game. A shrine structure, which contains the Trinket of Chi accessory, can be found somewhere within this layer.

• The Surface Purity is one of the only biomes affected by the Calamity Mod that does not have a boss or mini boss associated with it. However, bosses that are not bound by biome requirements, such as The Slime God or the Ravager, are typically fought within this biome.
