The Nuclear Toad is a Pre-Hardmode enemy that spawns during the Acid Rain event. It is stationary and when near the player, it will flash red for 2 seconds before exploding into 7 goop bubbles in a random spread, which are affected by gravity. The explosion radius depends on what tier of the Acid Rain event the player is currently on. The radius is roughly 16.875 blocks for Tier 1, 22.5 blocks for Tier 2 and 35 blocks for Tier 3.

Bestiary entry for the Nuclear Toad: "These toads expand like a pufferfish when creatures are near and burst when in danger. The otherwise terrifying inhabitants of the sea have learned well to avoid these critters due to their particularly explosive nature."
- The Nuclear Toad's throat glows a bright lime-green color during the Acid Rain event.
