The Melter is a Hardmode enemy that spawns in the Jungle after Golem has been defeated. Like most Bat enemies, it flies towards the player to deal contact damage and inflict them with the Plague debuff.

Trivia

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Melter: "While its frailty compared to other plague creatures appears to be a rather glaring weakness, the melters are able to spread the plague quicker than any other creature. Though it may cost them their lives, melters contain a mechanism that causes them to explode upon death, leaving little uninfected in their wake."

History

  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Now has 25% less health and 10% less damage in Master Mode.
    • Nerfed knockback resistance from 100% to 70%.
  • 2.0.3.005: Decreased Plague duration from 3 seconds to 1.5.
  • 2.0.3.001: Fixed it having an incorrect bestiary offset.
  • 1.5.1.001: Now vulnerable to cold and heat debuffs but resistant to sickness debuffs.
  • 1.5.0.001: Decreased Plague duration from 5 seconds to 3.
  • 1.4.1.001: Increased Plague duration from 3 seconds to 5.
  • 1.3.2.001: Nerfed damage from 110 / 220 Expert Mode to 55 / 110 Expert Mode.
