The Sulphurous Skater is a Hardmode enemy that spawns during Tiers 2 and 3 of the Acid Rain event. It moves around by jumping both on land and in water, however it will jump more often if it is outside of water. It will target nearby Sulphurous Sea bubbles and upon latching onto them, it will gain the ability to fly around and chase the player. If the bubble is popped by the player, it will return to jumping around.

Notes

• Despite being able to jump, it is unable to jump over half-block or certain sloped tiles.
• While its jumps do not go very high, they cover a larger horizontal distance.

Trivia

• The Bestiary entry for the Sulphurous Skater: "Though their exoskeleton provides minimal protection, their deceptively light weight allows them to run on water. These curious insects are even known to ride acidic bubbles for better vantage points and to escape being devoured by surfacing sea creatures."

• The Sulphurous Skater was taken from a submission for a Sulphurous Sea design contest that was held on the Calamity art server. Here is the original artwork, made by Kerubii.
