The Sea Serpent is a Hardmode enemy that spawns in the Sunken Sea. It is initially passive and swims in a loop underneath the player. After it takes damage, it becomes aggressive and tries to swim directly towards the player. It can swim through blocks and does not require water to move.

Trivia
- The Bestiary entry for the Sea Serpent: "Despite being one of the few carnivorous creatures to have ever existed in the Ilmeran Sea, even these serpents are unusually passive towards those they do not consider prey by the standards of elsewhere. The sea has only ever known one truly aggressive predator, and it abandoned a life of calming solitude years ago."
