The Blood Boiler in use.

The Blood Boiler is a craftable post-Moon Lord flamethrower. It fires two long and continuous streams of bloodfire. Each use has a 60% chance to subtract 1 health from the player. The fire curves back and returns to the player and has a 33.33% chance to heal them for 1 health each. If the flame hits an enemy, the player has a 50% chance to gain 1-3 health.

While the Blood Boiler is being fired, all of the player's life regen is disabled.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

  • If the player is killed by the Blood Boiler's self-damage, the death messages "<PlayerName> suffered from severe anemia." or "<PlayerName> was unable to obtain a blood transfusion." will display.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.3.008: Tooltip now mentions that it has a 40% chance to not consume health.
  • 2.0.3.007:
    • Nerfed damage from 145 to 115, use animation from 15 to 25, and shot speed from 12 to 9.5.
    • Now fires 2 flame streams at once. Flames now have 4 extra updates instead of 1, lose 15% damage on each hit, grant -1 local immunity frames instead of 5 ID-static immunity frames, and inflict Burning Blood for 10 seconds instead of 4.
    • Now has a 40% chance to not consume health instead of 25%.
    • Improved its flame visuals.
  • 2.0.2.001: No longer inflicts Brimstone Flames.
  • 1.5.1.001: Now inflicts Brimstone Flames and Burning Blood for 4 seconds instead of 6.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 400 to 250, but projectile now grants enemies 5 local immunity frames instead of 10.
    • No longer required to be used in 10 second bursts; it now has a use time of 5. Increased projectile size by 50% and its range by 20%. Now has a 25% chance to not consume the player's health as ammo when used.
