Explosion
The Absolute Zero is a Hardmode broadsword that autoswings, and is sold by the Archmage NPC for 60 after the defeating all three minibosses in the Frost Moon event. When swung, it fires a dark ice projectile which explodes upon impact with any enemy or surface, potentially hitting twice. Uniquely, its projectiles deal 50% less damage if they critically hit. Striking an enemy directly also creates large frost explosions. Both the blade and its projectiles always inflict the Frostbite and Glacial State debuffs on enemies.
Its best modifier is Legendary.
Trivia
- Absolute zero is the scientific term for 0 Kelvin, the asymptotic lowest possible temperature for anything to reach.
- The projectiles fired by Absolute Zero are visually identical to the projectiles fired by the Archmage; however, the Absolute Zero's ice crystals explode and deal additional damage on hit.
