The Infected Remote being used on a Super Dummy, demonstrating the pattern of attacks.

The Infected Remote is a Hardmode summon weapon that is dropped by The Plaguebringer Goliath. It summons Virili, a humanoid-hybrid Plaguebringer, who floats by the player and attacks enemies with various attacks set in the following pattern:

• Moves above her target and charges downwards, repeating up to six total charges
• Hovers above her target and charges horizontally, trailing homing rockets, repeating up to six total charges.
• Hovers above her target and summons miniature Plaguebringers and tiny plagued bees around her. Plagued bees home in towards the enemy similarly to normal friendly bees, while Mini-Plaguebringers perform up to three successful horizontal charges before dissipating and may idle when no enemies are nearby.

All of Virili's patterns are based on a timer that will run even if no enemies are nearby, meaning she can start attacking an enemy in the middle of her attack pattern. Additionally, she will occupy three minion slots while summoned, and only one instance of her can be summoned at a time.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Infected Remote has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

Trivia

• The name Virili is derived from the word "virulent", which is used to describe a disease or poison with extremely harmful effects.
• Virili is referred to as "PlaguePrincess" in the mod's source code.

  • Reworked:
    • Nerfed damage from 75 to 50.
    • Now costs 3 minion slots instead of scaling based on minion slots used.
    • Virili now charges in a cross-based pattern, and charges above the target during the rocket firing phase.
    • Charges now have a motion blur visual. Bees and Baby Plaguebringers now have a velocity multiplier of 2.
    • Baby Plaguebringers charge 50% faster.

• 2.0.0.001: Changed Virili buff tooltip from "It's a shame you can't hug her" to "Unfortunately for you, she's quite contagious".
