Halley's Inferno is a craftable post-Moon Lord flamethrower. It uses gel as ammunition. It shoots a rapid burst of five light blue comets that pierce enemies four times and inflict the Nightwither debuff. There is a 50% chance for gel not to be consumed when fired. Pressing right-click while holding this weapon will allow the player to zoom out a large distance.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

Trivia

• The name of the weapon is the reference to Halley's Comet, a comet that can be seen from Earth roughly every 75 years.

• 2.0.3.007:
  • Nerfed damage from 1125 to 444 and shot speed from 14.6 to 12, but buffed use time from 39 to 5, use animation from 39 to 25, and knockback from 5 to 5.5.
  • Now fires in bursts of 5 comets. Comets are now larger, can pass through tiles, pierce 4 times instead of 3, have 14 extra updates instead of 9, last 0.33 seconds instead of 0.25, grant -1 local immunity frames, and inflict Nightwither for 7.5 seconds instead of 4.
  • Improved the visuals of its comets.

• 2.0.3.005: Nerfed damage from 1350 to 1125, and it now pierces 3 times instead of 9.
