Halley's Inferno is a craftable post-Moon Lord flamethrower. It uses Gel for ammunition, with a 50% chance to not consume ammo. When used with its primary fire (Left Click), it fires a rapid burst of five blue comets that pierce four times and inflict the Nightwither debuff. When used with its secondary fire (Right Click), it zooms out the player's view range.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

• The name of the weapon is a reference to Halley's Comet, a comet that can be seen from Earth roughly every 75 years.

• 2.0.4.001:
  • Increased sell price from 26 to 35 .
  • Fixed its scope effect breaking with the Overhaul mod enabled.
  • Fixed its backpack sprite sometimes drawing with an incorrect offset.

• 2.0.3.007:
  • Nerfed damage from 1125 to 444 and shot speed from 14.6 to 12, but buffed use time from 39 to 5, use animation from 39 to 25, and knockback from 5 to 5.5.
  • Now fires in bursts of 5 comets. Comets are now larger, can pass through tiles, pierce 4 times instead of 3, have 14 extra updates instead of 9, last 0.33 seconds instead of 0.25, grant -1 local immunity frames, and inflict Nightwither for 7.5 seconds instead of 4.
  • Improved the visuals of its comets.
