The Overloaded Blaster is a Pre-Hardmode flamethrower that is dropped by The Slime God. When used, it fires a spread of 3 piercing slime pearls that eventually slow down and stop traveling after reaching a moderate distance, after which the slime pearls will stop in place and become overloaded. Slime pearls lose 15% damage per hit but restore to full damage when they become overloaded. When overloaded, slime pearls deal 160% of the weapon's damage and do not pierce. If a slime pearl hits a tile, it will bounce off at high speed but reduces its velocity on each bounce.
Its best modifier is Unreal.
Notes
- The Overloaded Blaster noticeably differs from other flamethrowers, lacking a well-defined stream or the typical sound effect. However, it is alike them in that it consumes gel as ammo.
Trivia
- The weapon's design is similar to that of the Splattershot type weapon from the Splatoon franchise.
History

- 2.0.4.001:
- Nerfed use time from 22 to 28, but it now has slightly less spread when firing.
- Slime bolts now have slightly less bounce velocity, and each bounce reduces the effectiveness of the bounce velocity. Slime bolts now lose 15% damage on each hit, but are restored to full damage when becoming overloaded.
- Fixed its backpack sprite sometimes drawing with an incorrect offset.
- 2.0.3.008: Overloaded slime bolts now deal 175% base damage instead of 200%.

- Buffed damage from 16 to 19, but nerfed use time from 16 to 22 and shot speed from 6.5 to 5. It now fires 3 bolts per use instead of 5, and now has a 25% chance to not consume ammo instead of 33%.
