The Vivid Clarity is a craftable post-Moon Lord wand that is the final upgrade of the Night's Ray. It fires a set of 5 beams towards the player's cursor that breaks upon contact with an enemy or tile. Once it breaks, it does one of the following:

  • Summons a beam from the sky that rebound off of walls and pierces enemies up to 9 times. The beam deals 70% of the base damage, increasing by 20% when bouncing off a tile and by 10% when piercing an enemy. Enemies that are within nearby range of the beam will be struck with additional smaller beams with less lifespan.
  • Forms a massive short-lasting explosion that deals double of the weapon's base damage and ignores immunity frames.
  • Bursts into eight homing bolts.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

  • 2.0.2.001:
    • Now inflicts Miracle Blight instead of Holy Flames, On Fire!, and Frostburn.
    • No longer uses Asteroid Staff or Thorn Blossom/The Prince in its recipe.

    • Nerfed damage from 550 to 515, but buffed mana cost from 69 to 42.

  • 1.4.3.001:
    • Reworked:
      • Buffed damage from 500 to 550, mana cost from 150 to 69, and use time from 33 to 20.
      • Now fires a series of five beams from the player directly towards the cursor, instead of three random beams from the sky aimed near the cursor.
      • The beams that fire directly no longer pierce, bounce, or spawn additional beams.
      • Instead, the beams have three different on-hit effects in collision with enemies or solid tiles: spawning a flower of eight homing projectiles, spawning a large explosion, or spawning beams from the sky with the previous effects of bouncing, piercing, and spawning additional beams when close to enemies.
    • Now uses Ultra Liquidator in its recipe instead of Hellwing Staff.
  • 1.4.2.108:
    • Now uses 4 Auric Tesla Bars in its recipe instead of 25 Auric Ore, 5 Cosmilite Bars, 5 Nightmare Fuel, 5 Endothermic Energy, 5 Phantoplasm, 5 Darksun Fragments, and 3 Yharon Soul Fragments.

  • 1.4.2.104: Fixed it using Venusian Trident in its recipe instead of Helium Flash.

    • Now inflicts Exo Freeze for 0.5 seconds, and increased Brimstone Flames, Glacial State, Holy Flames, Plague, Cursed Inferno, Frostburn, On Fire!, and Ichor duration from 1.67 seconds to 2.
