The Sea's Searing is a Hardmode ranged weapon that drops from the Aquatic Scourge. It has two modes of attack: its primary fire (left-click) will shoot a barrage of sea bubbles that summon several additional bubbles from the sides of the screen upon contacting an enemy that inflict the Wet debuff. Its secondary fire (right-click) launches a sea blast that creates a water spout on contact with blocks and enemies. All attacks inflict the Acid Venom debuff onto enemies.

Its best modifier is Unreal.


  • The primary fire has a fixed use time of 15 ticks, and the secondary fire has a fixed use time of 30 ticks; as a result, no modifier can increase or decrease the firing rate of the weapon.

  • Now considered a specialist weapon.
  • Buffed shot speed from 11 to 13 and left click reuse delay from 20 to 16, but left click now fires 2 bubbles per shot instead of 3.
    • Bubbles no longer pierce.
    • Now inflicts Acid Venom instead of Sulphuric Poisoning, and no longer inflicts Frostburn.
  • Spout now grants ID-static immunity frames instead of local immunity frames.
    • Nerfed damage from 60 to 48.
    • Increased Wet duration from bubble from 4 seconds to 5, and decreased Sulphuric Poisoning duration from 4 seconds to 3.
    • Decreased Frostburn and Sulphuric Poisoning durations from searing blast from 6 seconds to 3.
    • Decreased Sulphuric Poisoning duration from searing spout from 6 seconds to 4.
    • Now drops from Aquatic Scourge at a 10% chance in all difficulties instead of 100% Malice Mode.
    • No longer considered a nature weapon.
    • Now drops from Aquatic Scourge in Malice Mode instead of Revengeance Mode. Increased drop rate from 1% Revengeance Mode to 100% Malice Mode.
    • Now has a custom - Legendary Challenge Item- tag that alternates between #3C00BE ● and #3CFFBE ● instead of a custom rarity.
  • Fixed its secondary projectiles not scaling with the player's damage bonuses.
  • Projectiles now change colors as they travel.
