The Terra Ray is a craftable Hardmode wand. It shoots a straight green laser beam, similar to its predecessor Valkyrie Ray's beam, which lingers long enough to hit enemies 4 times before disappearing. When the laser hits an enemy, it spawns homing energy bolt projectiles. The amount of bolts it creates depends on the enemy's distance from the player when hit: If the hit enemy is close to the player, it only creates 1 energy bolt per hit, but it can create up to 3 bolts per hit if the enemy is far away.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • No longer has an alternate recipe using Carnage Ray.
    • Buffed damage from 50 to 60, but the beam now grants 12 local immunity frames instead of 8.
    • Hits now spawn up to 3 shards based on distance instead of 4, and shards now deal 50% base damage instead of 60%.
  • Decreased sell price from 16 Gold Coin to 12 Gold Coin.
  • Now uses 12 Living Shards in both of its recipes instead of 7.
    • Shard no longer homes into enemies behind tiles.
    • No longer considered a nature weapon.
    • Fixed an issue where shards did not deal damage.
  • Now uses Valkyrie Ray in its recipe.
  • Nerfed damage from 85 to 50, and use time from 19 to 24.

    • All projectiles now set NPC immunity frames to 8.

    • Split beams now last 0.25 seconds instead of 0.5.
    • Dust is now larger, but less frequent.

    • Removed tooltip "Fires a beam of life energy that can split into additional beams. Enemies must be near for the beam to split".
  • Can now use Carnage Ray in its recipe as an alternative for Night's Ray.
  • Now uses 7 Living Shards in its recipe instead of Shadowbeam Staff and 5 Living Shards.
  • Nerfed damage from 47 to 40.
  • 1.1.7:
    • Nerfed damage from 54 to 47.
    • Split beams now deal 70% main beam damage instead of 42.5%.
    • Split beams now last 0.5 seconds instead of 2, and secondary split beams now last 0.5 seconds instead of 0.17.
    • Nerfed damage from 57 to 54.
    • Resprited.
