Nitro Express Rifle
The Nitro Express Rifle is a craftable Hardmode gun. When used, it converts Musket Balls into a high-velocity round that pierces four times and causes the player to recoil in the opposite direction the weapon is fired towards.
Its best modifier is Unreal.

Trivia
- The weapon itself is a reference to the Nitro Express Rifle from the video game Signalis.
- In real life, Nitro Express refers to a series of rifle cartridges used in large-bore hunting rifles.
History
These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
- 2.0.4.002:
- Nerfed damage from 1350 to 210 and knockback from 8.5 to 7.5, but buffed use time from 80 to 70.
- Now only converts Musket Balls. Converted bullets now pierce 4 times instead of 8.
- Decreased how much recoil the gun makes when fired.
- Now uses Musket or The Undertaker, 3 Essences of Havoc, 3 Essences of Sunlight, and 5 Explosive Powder in its recipe, instead of Sniper Rifle, 3 Galactica Singularities, and 2 Dark Plasma. It now requires an Anvil to craft instead of an Ancient Manipulator.
