The Alpha Virus is a craftable post-Moon Lord rogue weapon that is a direct upgrade to the Epidemic Shredder. When used, it fires a large plague cell that constantly emits a lethal aura, which deals damage to enemies that enter its radius, and this aura hits up to 3 enemies at a time. The cell constantly emits and gains particles as it travels. When the plague cell travels a moderate distance, hits enemies 3 times or collides with a tile, it splits into 6 non-piercing plague seekers that home on nearby enemies. The cell and seekers inflict the Plague debuff.
Performing a stealth strike with the Alpha Virus will cause the next plague cell thrown to move slower, deal 70% damage and spawn 6 plague seekers to accumulate around it as it flies.
Its best modifier is Flawless.
