The Lionfish is a Pre-Hardmode rogue weapon that is obtained from Ancient Treasure Chests in the Abyss. When used, it hurls a Lionfish which travels in a straight line for a long distance before being affected by gravity. Lionfish projectiles will explode upon hitting a block or after being stuck to an enemy for several seconds. This explosion is purely cosmetic and deals no damage.

The Lionfish inflicts Acid Venom on contact with enemies and sticks to them. Unlike most weapons that deal Acid Venom, the damage over time dealt by the Lionfish stacks. Each Lionfish stuck an in enemy increases the damage of the Acid Venom debuff by 15 damage per second, up to six Lionfish at once for a maximum of 120 damage per second.

Performing a stealth strike with the Lionfish causes the resulting projectile to release several homing urchin spikes as it travels.

Its best modifier is Flawless.
