The Void Vortex is a craftable post-Moon Lord wand which is an upgrade to the Voltaic Climax. When used, it fires twelve magnetic orbs at the cursor that quickly spin out in a circular fashion away from the cursor. Each magnetic orb will rapidly fire electric beams at nearby enemies, which ignore immunity frames and deal incredibly high amounts of damage per second. The electric beams will not pass through blocks, and the orbs will despawn after traveling for 2.25 seconds.

Its best modifier is Mythical. However, the weapon's knockback will not be affected due to already being 0.

Notes

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.3.007: Buffed damage from 106 to 110. Orbs now fire beams every 15 frames instead of 20, but now last 2.25 seconds instead of 3.
  • 2.0.3.003: Nerfed damage from 112 to 106, and orbs now fire every 20 frames instead of 16.
  • 1.5.1.003: Now obtainable and can be crafted with a Voltaic Climax and 5 Auric Bars at a Cosmic Anvil.
  • 1.5.1.001:
    • Now unobtainable.
    • Nerfed damage from 140 to 112.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 195 to 140 and use time from 41 to 80.
    • No longer fires a spread of magnetic orbs that spin out over time. Now summons 12 supercharged magnet spheres in a circular pattern that travel clockwise and eventually fade out. Supercharged magnet spheres fire beams at nearby enemies.
    • Now drops from Yharon in Malice Mode instead of all difficulties. Increased drop rate from 2.5% to 100% Malice Mode.
    • Now has a custom - Challenge Item - (#FF8C00 ●) tag instead of using the Rarity level: Rare Variant rarity.
  • 1.4.5.001: Fixed projectiles interfering with enemy immunity frames.
  • 1.4.3.002: Nerfed damage from 300 to 195, but buffed use time from 45 to 41.
  • 1.4.2.102: Increased the hitscan range of orbs.
