The Void Vortex is a craftable post-Moon Lord wand that is a direct upgrade to the Voltaic Climax. When used, it summons a circular spread of 12 tile-ignoring electric orbs along with a larger orb in the center of the ring at the cursor's position that deals 400% of the weapon's damage. The outer orbs quickly converge into the larger orb and space out from each other upon collision, causing the larger orb to explode into 12 homing smaller orbs that deal 66% of the weapon's damage and can pass through tiles. If there are enemies nearby, each outer orb will fire one electric beam at them consecutively that ignores immunity frames but cannot target enemies through tiles. The large orb, smaller orbs, and beams inflict the Electrified debuff.

Its best modifier is Mythical. However, the weapon's knockback will not be affected due to already being 0.

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
    • Buffed damage from 110 to 210, and use time from 80 to 49.
    • Increased the size of the orb ring, and decreased its rotation speed. Orbs now last 0.5 seconds instead of 2.25, but increased orb target range from 25 tiles to 62.5.
    • Now additionally spawns a larger orb in the center of the ring that explodes on death for 400% base damage and splits into 12 homing lightning bolts that each deal 66% base damage. Large orb and lightning bolts inflict Electrified for 3 seconds, and beams inflict Electrified for 1.5 seconds.
    • Increased sell price from 30 Gold Coin to 48 Gold Coin.
  • Buffed damage from 106 to 110. Orbs now fire beams every 15 frames instead of 20, but now last 2.25 seconds instead of 3.
  • Nerfed damage from 112 to 106, and orbs now fire every 20 frames instead of 16.
  • Now obtainable and can be crafted with a Voltaic Climax and 5 Auric Bars at a Cosmic Anvil.
    • Now unobtainable.
    • Nerfed damage from 140 to 112.
    • Nerfed damage from 195 to 140 and use time from 41 to 80.
    • No longer fires a spread of magnetic orbs that spin out over time. Now summons 12 supercharged magnet spheres in a circular pattern that travel clockwise and eventually fade out. Supercharged magnet spheres fire beams at nearby enemies.
    • Now drops from Yharon in Malice Mode instead of all difficulties. Increased drop rate from 2.5% to 100% Malice Mode.
    • Now has a custom - Challenge Item - (#FF8C00 ●) tag instead of using the Rarity level: Rare Variant rarity.
  • Fixed projectiles interfering with enemy immunity frames.
  • Nerfed damage from 300 to 195, but buffed use time from 45 to 41.
  • Increased the hitscan range of orbs.
