Atlas Munitions Beacon is a post-Moon Lord sentry that drops from the Exo Mechs after XM-05 Thanatos has been defeated last. When used, a drop pod falls from the sky down towards the cursor's position. Upon contacting a solid tile or platform, the drop pod deploys a turret with a hold-able autocannon. While on the turret, the autocannon fires blue lasers towards nearby targets. If the target is within a 45-tile radius, the autocannon instead fires three overdriven red lasers at a slower rate. Overdriven lasers have small visual sparkles on hit, move faster, and deal 18% more damage. While in overdrive, the autocannon heats up after 100 continuous shots, signaled by a gradual increase in steam and redness, eventually causing it to stop attacking for three seconds. The autocannon also passively cools down as it stops attacking even if heat is not full.

Right-clicking within a 12.5-tile radius of the turret while the item is held causes the player to pick up the autocannon. When used by the player, the autocannon automatically enters overdrive mode and attacks at a 25% faster rate. Holding another item, right-clicking again while not in proximity of the turret, or fully heating up the autocannon will immediately drop it onto the ground. If dropped or right-clicked in range of the turret, the autocannon is automatically placed back onto the turret. If the autocannon is left for too long, both the autocannon and the turret will despawn.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Atlas Munitions Beacon has over a Ruthless one is knockback.
