Giant Cursed Skull (After Leviathan and Anahita have been defeated)14% / 6.67% Expert Mode

The Keelhaul is a Hardmode wand that is dropped by Giant Cursed Skulls in the Dungeon after Leviathan and Anahita have been defeated. When used, a small blue projectile is fired in the cursor's direction that creates a geyser upon impact with a tile or an enemy. The geyser stays in place and rapidly damages any enemy that it makes contact with. The geyser can pierce unlimited enemies and ignores tiles and disappears four seconds after it is spawned.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Notes

  • Although its tooltip only states that it summons geysers upon hitting enemies, it will also summon geysers upon hitting tiles.

Trivia

  • The term "keelhaul" refers to a punishment once dealt by sailors at sea, in which the offender would be tied to a line, thrown overboard, and dragged beneath the ship.
  • The item is also a reference to Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The name refers to Keelhaul Key, where the 5th chapter of the game takes place. The item is obtained by killing a Giant Cursed Skull, a reference to Cortez, the boss of Keelhaul Key. The tooltip also suggests this connection, referencing both the paper aesthetic of the game and Lord Crump, a character that makes an appearance in the Chapter.
