Sounds

The Fishbone Boomerang is a craftable Pre-Hardmode boomerang. When used, it throws a boomerang which remains airborne up to four seconds. Unlike most boomerangs, it has a brief throwing animation, and it decelerates when it reaches its maximum distance as opposed to turning around instantly. It is capable of piercing infinitely, but returns to the player extremely quickly when it hits a surface or an enemy.

Performing a stealth strike with the Fishbone Boomerang causes the next boomerang thrown to ricochet to another nearby enemy before returning to the player. If no enemies are nearby, it returns to the player as usual.

Its best modifier is Flawless.

Trivia

  • If the boomerang hits 10 or more enemies, each hit will create a random sound from the Drum Set. This does not affect the projectile in any other way.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.1.001:
    • Buffed damage from 24 to 27.
    • Fixed an issue where hits on its return would count towards its hit limit.
  • 2.0.0.001:
    • Renamed from "Seashell Boomerang" to "Fishbone Boomerang".
    • Reworked:
      • Now has a hitsound that increases in pitch per enemy hit. Once 10 enemies have been hit in a single throw, the hitsound is replaced with a drum.
      • If the boomerang hits an enemy or tile, 1-2 cosmetic bone gores will spawn that deal no damage.
      • Additionally, it now has a custom throw animation.
      • Stealth strike now gives the boomerang the ability to ricochet between enemies instead of spawning seashell projectiles.
    • Resprited it and projectile.
  • 1.5.0.001: Now exclusively deals rogue damage and has a stealth strike effect.
  • 1.4.5.001: Rogue variant can now trigger universal stealth strike effects.
  • 1.4.2.001: Thrown variants now last 4 seconds instead of 10.
  • 1.2.4.001: Nerfed use time from 11 to 15, and knockback from 6.5 to 5.5.
  • 1.1.7.61: Nerfed thrown variant's use time from 10 to 14, and knockback from 6.5 to 5.5.
