The Ultimus Cleaver is a Hardmode broadsword that is dropped by the Ravager. When swung, five homing gravity-affected sparks will fly out of the weapon, with each one piercing once and dealing one-tenth of the initial damage of the Cleaver. The five sparks are always thrown out at the same semi-equidistant angles, with the highest going straight upward and the lowest going straight forward, regardless of where the player is aiming. Each spark lasts for 1.5 seconds before dissipating. Additionally, landing a true melee hit will cause explosions to erupt on the target, dealing additional damage.
Its best modifier is Legendary.
Notes
- Despite firing projectiles when swung, this weapon is still classified as a true melee weapon, and therefore receives all of the exclusive benefits and drawbacks of the damage type.
- The explosion generated by sword hits deals exactly 100% of the weapon's base damage, cannot critically strike, does not damage nearby targets, and cannot be modified by any means.
- This effect, along with its visuals, is identical to the Hellkite.
Trivia
- When it was initially released, and for a few versions thereafter, the weapon was not actually swung, and instead was held out as it was used, with sparks flying out only when the user was on the ground.
History
