The Black Hawk Remote is a Hardmode summon weapon that is dropped by the Wall of Flesh. When used, it summons a fighter jet that follows the player, and attacks by aiming and firing at enemies. The jet fires and consumes bullets from the inventory and can target through tiles. If Musket Balls are used as ammo, all bullets are converted into special bullets that emit light and pass through tiles.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Black Hawk Remote has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

  • This weapon's good DPS and ability to fire through tiles make it very useful for early Hardmode.


  • This weapon and its minions are likely named after the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk, which is a US military aircraft, although it is a utility helicopter rather than a fighter jet.
  • The Black Hawk Remote was implemented based on a community suggestion made by Aleksh on the mod's Discord server.


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
    • Nerfed damage from 32 to 25 and velocity from 10 to 6.
    • Now consumes and fires bullets.
  • Now has a use time of 24 instead of 25.
  • Fixed minion laser projectiles being invisible.
    • Nerfed damage from 46 to 32, but the minion can now detect targets and fire through tiles.
    • Added a glowmask to the minions.
  • Now uses dust 258 instead of 180 upon use.
  • Fixed minion not benefitting from increased all-class damage.
