The Aftershock is a Hardmode broadsword that is dropped by Earth Elementals. Hitting enemies with the sword spawns a spiked boulder from the sky that pierces twice and can pass through tiles to hit enemies. The boulders will bounce around and stop when they collide with a tile before shattering. The sword itself inflicts the Armor Crunch debuff.
Its best modifier is Legendary.
Notes
- The Destroyer takes only 50% damage from the Aftershock's boulders.
Tips
- The Aftershock is very useful for rapidly annihilating worm-like enemies, since the falling boulders can hit several segments.
Trivia
- Unlike most on-hit effects, the Aftershock's effect can be triggered by hitting Target Dummies, however, this does not work during boss fights.
- An aftershock is a smaller earthquake which follows with a larger one in the same area.

- 2.0.4.001:
- Buffed knockback from 7.5 to 9.
- Rocks now have 2 extra updates instead of 1, can pass through tiles above the player, and aim at the target instead of the cursor, but pierce 2 times instead of 5, and grant 10 effective local immunity frames instead of 5.
