The Exoblade's primary and secondary attack abilities being used against Target Dummies and a Super Dummy.

The Exoblade is a craftable post-Moon Lord endgame melee weapon that autoswings. It has one of the most complex crafting trees of all swords in the Calamity Mod.

When using its primary attack (left-click), it uses a custom overhead swing animation that fires three bright rainbow beams which homes into nearby enemies after 0.4 seconds. Each beam creates a long, infinitely piercing slash upon hitting an enemy, which can hit multiple times. The beams and their slashes deal 46% of the weapon's damage.

When using its secondary attack (right-click), the player holds the sword and dashes in the direction of the cursor for 0.82 seconds. Upon impact with an enemy, the player rebounds and five beam slashes are formed on the struck enemy. The beam slashes from the dash attack deals 150% of the weapon's damage. This attack has a cooldown of one second.

After striking an enemy with the dash attack, the next swing attack within 0.62 seconds will be 50% larger and create a massive explosion which deals 180% of the weapon's damage.

Its best modifier is Godly. It cannot get modifiers that affect size. Ruthless might be preferred if the player already has 100% critical strike chance.

  • The upper part of the Exoblade's sprite was based on the mod's logo.
  • The weapon was previously referred to as 'DraedonsExoblade' in the mod's files.


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • Fixed its prim trails having unintended jagged rendering.
    • Now fires 4 beams per swing instead of 3, but beams now deal 35% base damage instead of 46%. Increased how fast its beams home in on enemies.
    • Powerful slash now heals for 4% of damage dealt on hit.
    • Increased sell price from 30 Gold Coin to 48 Gold Coin.

      • Now has a custom swing animation, and when swung, it now fires out three exo energy beams that home onto enemies after a short duration.
      • When an exo energy beam damages a target, it will summon two additional light beams that slash the enemy once.
      • Now has a right-click function that causes the player to quickly lunge forward and fly through the air. It does 175% more damage while lunging.
      • Colliding with an enemy while lunging will cause the lunge to prematurely end, powering up the weapon, which causes its next swing to increase the sword size by 230%, and if the sword damages an enemy, it will create a power explosion that deals damage to nearby enemies.
      • Now uses the Melee No Speed damage type and the sword itself no longer inflicts any debuffs. However, its projectiles still inflict Exo Freeze, Frostburn, Holy Flames, and On Fire!.
    • Resprited.
  • No longer uses Phoenix Blade in its recipe.
    • No longer inflicts Brimstone Flames, Plague, Cursed Inferno, or Ichor.
    • Now inflicts Frostburn for 2.5 seconds instead of 2, and On Fire! for 3 seconds instead of 2.
    • Nerfed damage from 5000 to 900.
    • Explosions now grant enemies 10 local immunity frames instead of 1 and deal 50% less damage if they critically hit.
    • Now uses 1 Miracle Matter in its recipe instead of 4 Auric Bars.
    • Nerfed damage from 6700 to 5000.
    • Fixed tooltip stating it has a chance to inflict Exo Freeze when it is guaranteed to inflict it.
    • Fixed explosion and comet not benefitting from increased all-class damage.
    • Swing now functions in PvP.
  • Now uses 4 Auric Tesla Bars in its recipe instead of 25 Auric Ore, 5 Cosmilite Bars, 5 Nightmare Fuel, 5 Endothermic Energy, 5 Phantoplasm, 5 Darksun Fragments, and 3 Yharon Soul Fragments.
  • Projectiles are now briefly invisible upon spawning.
  • No longer uses Baleful Harvester in its recipe.
    • Decreased true melee hit Exo Freeze duration from 8.33 seconds to 0.5, and Brimstone Flames, Glacial State, Holy Flames, Plague, Cursed Inferno, Frostburn, On Fire!, and Ichor duration from 3.33 seconds to 2.
    • Decreased beam and comet Exo Freeze duration from 4 seconds to 0.5, and Brimstone Flames, Glacial State, Holy Flames, Plague, Cursed Inferno, Frostburn, On Fire!, and Ichor duration from 3.33 seconds to 2.
    • Decreased explosion Exo Freeze duration from 2 seconds to 0.5, and they now inflict Brimstone Flames, Glacial State, Holy Flames, Plague, Cursed Inferno, Frostburn, On Fire!, and Ichor.
  • No longer uses Terra-cotta in its recipe.
    • Buffed damage from 3500 to 6700, and knockback from 6 to 9.
    • Can no longer heal off of enemies with the canGhostHeal tag set to false.
    • Buffed damage from 2500 to 3500.
    • Fixed it not benefitting from any modifiers which boost damage.
    • Fixed comets not following the player correctly.
    • Halved the chance to heal the player on true melee strikes.
