Use
The Gauss Pistol is a craftable Hardmode magic gun. When used, it spawns an immobile green blast that travels towards the cursor after 0.5 seconds.
The weapon consumes 0.05 units of charge per use and has a maximum charge of 85. As such, the weapon can be used continuously from full charge 1700 times, or for 9 minutes and 26 seconds.
Its best modifier is Mythical.

The Gauss Pistol cannot be crafted until the Encrypted Schematic from the Space Bio-center Lab is decrypted. If the requirement has not been met, two lines of tooltip are added at the bottom of the item:

Trivia
- The Gauss Pistol is a reference to the weapon of the same name from Fallout 2 and uses the sound effect of the Gauss Rifle from the series' later installments.
History
These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
- 2.0.1.002: Buffed damage from 110 to 150.
- 1.5.1.001: Removed the period from the first line of its tooltip.
- 1.5.0.001:
- Now uses 10 Any Mythril Bars in its recipe instead of 10 Hallowed Bars.
- Fixed an issue that caused it to lose its charge when reforged.
- 1.4.5.006: Nerfed damage from 130 to 110, but the green blast projectile now stays still for 50% less time.
- 1.4.5.003: Depletion of charge is no longer random, it now consumes 0.05 charge on every use.
- 1.4.5.001: Introduced.
