The Magnetic Meltdown is a craftable post-Moon Lord wand. It fires 4 purple orbs which go through blocks; the orbs travel a short distance and stay in the air for a couple of seconds, continuously shooting enemies around them with shadowbolts. The orbs act similarly to the orbs fired by the Magnet Sphere with higher damage and a larger range; thus, the Magnetic Meltdown can be considered a direct upgrade of the Magnet Sphere.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 1.5.1.001: Moved Dark Plasma to the bottom of the recipe.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 90 to 60.
    • No longer spawns a spread of 3-7 magnetic orbs that fire 30 shadowbolts per second. It now fires four magnetic orbs in a diamond pattern that travel for a short distance, firing 12 shadowbolts per second at nearby enemies.
    • Now uses 3 Dark Plasma in its recipe instead of 10 Cosmilite Bars.
  • 1.4.5.001: Fixed projectiles interfering with enemy immunity frames.
  • 1.4.3.002:
    • Nerfed damage from 135 to 90.
    • Increased the maximum range that magnet orbs can fire projectiles from.
    • Fixed dust visuals on rays.
  • 1.2.4.101: Projectiles now last 2.5 seconds instead of 3.
  • 1.2.1.005: Now always fires 4 projectiles instead of 4-5.
