The Magnetic Meltdown is a craftable post-Moon Lord wand that is a direct upgrade to the Magnet Sphere. When used, it fires 4 tile-ignoring purple magnetic orbs in a diamond cross shape that move out a short distance before stopping. The orbs fire beams at nearby enemies twice before dissipating and the orbs cannot target enemies through tiles.
Its best modifier is Mythical.

History
These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
- 2.0.4.001:
- Buffed damage from 100 to 200, use time from 49 to 37, mana cost from 40 to 32, and shot speed from 14 to 18.
- Orbs now last 0.83 seconds instead of 2 and decelerate faster, but increased orb target range from 18.75 tiles to 34.375.
- Now uses Twisting Nether in its recipe instead of Dark Plasma.
