Bee (projectile)

The Plague Keeper is a craftable post-Moon Lord broadsword that is an upgrade to the Bee Keeper and Virulence. When swung, it releases a large cloud of plague dust that goes through tiles and can pierce infinitely, spawning 25 bees in its path. The cloud slows down and fades away after a second, reducing its damage by 40% while fading. It also releases 3 bees upon true melee contact with enemies. Bees do not pass through tiles nor pierce enemies and deal 1/3 of the sword's damage.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

  • The Plague Keeper's bee projectiles are affected by the Hive Pack.


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
    • Nerfed damage from 80 to 68, but wave projectile now grants ID-static immunity frames instead of global immunity frames.
    • No longer deals half damage if a true melee hit critically strikes.
    • Now uses the Rarity Level: 11 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 10.
    • Increased sell price from 20 Gold Coin to 24 Gold Coin.
  • No longer uses 10 Solar Fragments or 5 Infected Armor Plating in its recipe.
  • Projectiles now deal 50% less damage if they critically hit.
    • Nerfed damage from 90 to 80, and use time from 17 to 19.
    • Projectile now sets target immunity frames to 8 instead of 5.
    • Fixed bees not scaling with the player's damage boosts.
    • Added a sprite to Wave projectile.
    • Fixed bees not having a melee damage type.
    • Swing now functions in PvP.
