The Gamma Heart is a post-Moon Lord summon weapon that is dropped by Nuclear Terrors. When used, it summons a Gamma Hydra that is attached to the player; summoning the item again will add a head in exchange for taking up another minion slot. The heads fire gamma canisters in an arc at nearby enemies which inflict the Sulphuric Poisoning debuff. Each canister splits into 6 gamma bullets upon contacting an enemy or tile, each of which pierce four times and will home into enemies after exactly 1.1666 seconds.
Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Gamma Heart has over a Ruthless one is knockback.
Trivia
- Like the Nuclear Terror, The Gamma Hydra's design was inspired, albeit more directly, by the Horror character from the game Nuclear Throne.
