The Baleful Harvester is a craftable Hardmode broadsword. Upon striking enemies with the blade, homing pumpkins and fiery orange skulls will spawn off-screen and attack enemies in the same fashion as The Horseman's Blade. Both projectiles deal 150% of the weapon's base damage and 50% knockback and skulls split into 2 homing fire orbs which each deal 50% of the weapon's base damage. The sword, the skulls and their fire orbs inflict the Hellfire debuff.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Buffed damage from 80 to 105, but on-hit pumpkins and skulls now deal 50% knockback. Significantly increased dust size on flares.
    • No longer has a 150% size modifier.
    • No longer deals half damage if a true melee hit critically strikes.
    • Flares now home towards the closest enemy instead of the earliest enemy in the NPC array.
  • 2.0.3.007: Resprited it and its skulls. Previous sprites were Baleful Harvester (1.3.2.001).png Pumpkin Skull (1.0).png
  • 2.0.2.001:
    • Now inflicts Hellfire instead of On Fire!.
    • Now uses 12 Stardust Fragments in its recipe instead of a Book of Skulls and 20 Solar Fragments.
  • 1.5.1.001:
    • Decreased On Fire! duration from skulls from 10 seconds to 4.
    • No longer considered a fire weapon.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 160 to 90 but it now has a 150% size modifier.
    • No longer fires flaming skull projectiles when used. It now summons a swarm of flaming pumpkins and skulls that explode into homing flares on enemy hits. Flaming Pumpkins deal 50% less damage if they critically hit. Now does 50% more damage when hitting an enemy with the weapon itself.
  • 1.4.3.001:
    • Fixed pumpkin not benefitting from increased all-class damage.
    • Swing now functions in PvP.
  • 1.4.2.105: Fixed a bug with it spawning sub projectiles in the wrong place.
  • 1.4.2.104:
    • Buffed damage from 110 to 160.
    • Shot skulls are now faster, ignore water, last 5 seconds instead of 10, and have a blood particle trail and afterimages.
    • Flares now last 3 seconds instead of 4 and no longer produce light.
    • Now summons more skulls from off screen on true melee hits.
    • Now uses 20 Solar Fragments in its recipe instead of 30 Pumpkins and 200 Spooky Wood, and now requires an Ancient Manipulator to craft instead of a Hardmode Anvil.
    • Now uses the Rarity Level: 9 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 7.
  • 1.4.2.102:
    • Reduced the amount of dust created by skulls.
    • Decreased On Fire! duration from true melee hits from 40 seconds to 5, and from flares from 10 seconds to 5.
    • Added a tooltip.
  • 1.3.2.001:
    • Buffed use time and use animation from 32 to 22.
