The Shattered Sun's projectiles splitting, homing, and inflicting the Holy Flames debuff. Note that normal strikes' split daggers cannot pass through tiles.

The Shattered Sun is a craftable post-Moon Lord dagger that is a direct upgrade to the Radiant Star. When used, it throws a profaned dagger that is not affected by gravity and pierces infinitely. Upon hitting an enemy, it causes a small damaging explosion that deals 45% of the weapon's damage. Shortly after it is thrown, it splits into 5 rapidly accelerating scorching daggers that home in on the closest enemy but do not pierce or pass through tiles. Split daggers deal 75% of the weapon's damage and cause a visual explosion of cloud particles on enemy or tile contact. The daggers and explosions inflict the Holy Flames debuff.

Performing a stealth strike with the Shattered Sun will cause the resulting split daggers to spawn 10 homing daggers from the player's position when they hit an enemy. Daggers spawned from the player deal 41.25% damage. It also causes the main and split daggers to suck in non-boss enemies and allows the split daggers to travel through tiles.

Its best modifier is Flawless.

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Split projectiles now home towards the closest enemy instead of the earliest enemy in the NPC array.
    • Increased sell price from 24 Gold Coin to 30 Gold Coin.
  • 1.5.1.001:
    • Stealth strike dagger now pulls in nearby enemies.
    • No longer considered a fire weapon.

      • Increased time taken to split from 0.2 seconds to 0.33.
      • Nerfed main dagger on-hit explosion damage from 100% to 15%.
      • Buffed homing dagger damage from 50% to 80%.
    • Now counts as a fire weapon.
