The Prismalline is a craftable Hardmode dagger that is a direct upgrade to the Crystalline. When used, it throws a prism dagger that is affected by gravity and pierces infinitely. Shortly after it is thrown, it splits into 3 copies of itself in a random spread. Split daggers can either be homing or non-homing, but neither type can pierce. Homing split daggers will not deal damage until they start homing. If the main dagger hits a tile before splitting, the extra daggers will not appear.

Performing a stealth strike with the Prismalline causes the next dagger thrown to split into 6 copies instead of 3 and spawn 4 prism shards. The main dagger shatters into 5 prism shards and all dagger copies shatter into 1-2 prism shards. Prism shards are affected by gravity, do not pierce, and home in on nearby enemies. Prism shards will not deal damage until they start homing. Shards from the main dagger deal 50% of the weapon's damage while shards from the dagger copies deal 33.33% damage. The main dagger and prism shards inflict the Eutrophication debuff.

Its best modifier is Flawless.

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Buffed use time from 24 to 20.
    • Main projectile now pierces infinitely instead of once, but lasts 1 second instead of 3.
    • Normal throws now spawn 3 split projectiles instead of 5. Stealth strikes now spawn 5 split projectiles instead of 4, but spawn 4 shards instead of 5.
    • Stealth strike split projectiles now spawn 1-2 shards instead of 1-3. Shards now home in slightly faster.
    • Split projectiles and shards now home towards the closest enemy instead of the earliest enemy in the NPC array.
  • 2.0.2.001:
    • Buffed damage from 24 to 36 but nerfed use time from 16 to 24.
    • Main dagger now grants 10 local immunity frames.
    • Non-homing daggers now deal 100% base damage instead of 75%, homing daggers from regular throws now deal 100% base damage instead of 110%, and homing daggers from stealth strikes now deal 100% base damage instead of 115%.
    • Stealth strikes now spawn 5 shards on split instead of 2-4, and 5 shards on death instead of 1-3.
    • Stealth strikes no longer have a 115% damage modifier.
    • Decreased sell price from 7 Gold Coin.png 20 Silver Coin.png to 4 Gold Coin.png 80 Silver Coin.png.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Buffed damage from 18 to 24.
    • Stealth strikes now have a 115% damage modifier.
  • 1.4.5.001:
    • Nerfed damage of homing copies from 125% base damage to 110%. Stealth strike copies now deal 115% base damage.
    • Now uses Mollusk Husks in its recipe instead of Essences of Eleum.
